Under long-duration continuous production environments, manual splicing is easily affected by operating habits, visual fatigue, and differences in experience, which may result in misalignment, tape wrinkling, or insufficient splicing stability. Once splicing quality fluctuates, it may not only affect feeder pass-through capability, but also further impact subsequent placement continuity and production takt time. Meanwhile, in todays high-speed placement and precision manufacturing environment, traditional manual splicing methods are gradually becoming insufficient in terms of standardization, consistency, and error-proofing management to meet the automation demands of SMT production lines.

 

02 YOUNGPOOL Intelligent Tape Splicing Solution

To address the practical requirements of SMT tape splicing processes in terms of stability, efficiency, and intelligent management, YOUNGPOOL TECHNOLOGY independently developed and launched the L-900 Auto Splicing Machine, providing a more stable and efficient SMT tape splicing solution for multi-specification tape applications.



The L-900 supports tape splicing for 824mm carrier tapes and is compatible with both paper and plastic tapes. The equipment adopts a rail-adjustable design that automatically adapts track width according to different tape specifications. In high-mix, low-volume production environments, it helps reduce the operational burden caused by repeated manual adjustments, making it more suitable for flexible manufacturing scenarios involving multi-specification material splicing requirements.


In terms of splicing stability, the L-900 Auto Splicing Machine supports a maximum component pocket depth of 9mm and provides strong tensile and torsional resistance at the splice joint, further improving post-splicing running stability. During continuous production, it helps enhance feeder pass-through performance and production line continuity. In addition, the machine is equipped with a standard intelligent vision system and supports automatic empty tape detection and automatic tape cutting functions. Compared with traditional manual splicing methods, it can reduce repetitive operating procedures and help improve process consistency and standardization during tape splicing.


To meet current SMT production requirements for material error-proofing and quality management, the L-900 Auto Splicing Machine can also be optionally equipped with an LCR measurement-based error-proofing system. The equipment adopts an independent X, Y, and Z-axis design and supports measurement for 01005 components, enabling further material inspection and error-proofing management during the splicing process. In addition, the equipment supports MES system integration and can be customized according to on-site MES requirements, helping manufacturers further optimize production data collaboration and material management processes.
